Remove carbon fiber case from AirPods Pro

BB has a good sale on AP Pro2 (-$70). I am using my last AP Pro(2022) as a trade in.
However, I cannot find a way to safely remove the carbon fiber case from my AP Pro.
My fingers are not very strong and if I use a sharp letter opener this would scratch the original Apple AirPods Pro case.
The photo shows the company is "M" (Monocarbon?), but I threw away the original box when I moved last year from one state to another.

Do not use the letter opener or anything harder than a finger nail.
Maybe ask someone with stronger fingers to help you

I initially tried to do the trade at a BB store. A young healthy male was not able to remove the skin on the body of the AP. Skin on the top of the case is easy to remove.
I am glad I did not complete the trade because I would have missed the big sale on the AP P2.
