Hey guys, quick simple question:

How can I get rid of, or change the appearence of the blue tethering bar?

Primarily what i need to get rid of is the "flashing" light from white to dark blue in at the top of the screen - I just want something solid as it kinda disturbs me to have something flashing in the background and having to switch off the iphone screen..

Is there a hack to make that go away so there still is an icon or something showing that im using tethering, but without it dominating the screen and dimming bright and then back to the blue again? ..thanks :)

(using a 3gs with 3.1, blackrain)

Sorry to bump my own thread (I hate it when people do that..!) but I seriously can´t believe no one in here knows how to fix this issues...and I can hardly be the only one finding it annoying to look at...So please, if anyone have an idea or know where to go to find the answer go ahead and chime in. Thanks

i want to remove this too..

i can hardly use some typing application like ebuddy or text message with that blue bar.

i cant see the word that my iphone want to auto correct with or if im typing more than a row when internet tethering is on, i dont see what im typing at all...

All you need to do is make sure you're on at least iOS 4.0, then download mywi4. In the settings, change it from blue tether bar to status bar icon.

This is my favorite feature in mywi4, hands down.

Also, if using MyWi for 3GS, there is an option to disable entierly that internet tethering bar. Just head out to the MyWi application, and disable internet tethering from your USB.;)
