iPod Remove files from itunes but keep in ipod

Hi,

I have ipod classic (5G) 80 GB. I have lots of movies, songs, games and photos synced with my now existing itunes library. Due to growing number of files in my external HDD, i need to delete some movies and other files which i have in my itunes library and ipod.
I want to know if it possible to remove files from itunes library but have them in ipod. If yes how can it be done. Any helps appreciated!!!

Just make sure that you check "manually manage music and videos".

much wiser to save a up a few bucks and get another/bigger external drive. When (not if) your hard drive fails, you're going to be hosed.

And it won't delete files from itunes though u sync it?
