Remove files in files app from backup

Is there a way to tell my iPad that files in my files-app should not be included in my iCloud backup? I have a lot of files in my downloads-folder that I do not want/need to be included in my iCloud backup. They cause the backup to fail, because the backup becomes too large. I looked everywhere but did not find any option to exclude files from the files-app from the backup.

Anyone know or is it really not possible? That would be super stupid…

There isn’t a way to exclude specific Files app folders. You may want to look into the FileBrowser app for more fine tuning of your backup. Alternatively, could those downloaded files be moved elsewhere onto an external drive or to your Mac?
