Please! How do I remove the flashlight and camera buttons from the bottom of the Lock Screen? 🤬

I’d rather not record 25 minutes of 4k ProRes of the inside of my pants pocket, or get locked out of my own phone for 3+ hours every few days, because of wrong password attempts while my phone is in my pocket.

That feature will be invented with iOS 26.

What do the flashlight and camera have to do with entering passwords? I can’t recall either ever turning on in my pocket. I’ve even tried and I can’t get either to activate while the phone remains locked

Both are annoying because they never work when I actually want to use them in a hurry because of the long press requirement that I always forget but as you say that doesn't seem to be a problem when the phone is your pocket and you find the torch as been on for 5 hours.

I hate the torch and camera buttons on the lock screen too. The torch sometimes switches on in my pocket at times and drains the battery!!! Yet, whenever I actually try to use them, they rarely work or take an age.

I'd rather see some clever option to detect and turn off the damn camera after a minute or two in complete darkness of my pocket, instead of warming the phone until I can feel it on my leg -10% of battery later. I can't understand how can this still happen in 2023 on a phone with dozen different sensors

I get the sentiment, but I have to say, I don't generally have the issues that are described in this thread. I've literally never been locked out of my phone due to key presses while in the pocket. I have had occasional flashlight activation, but no camera thankfully.

Also, the suggestion to remove the buttons altogether will not fix the being locked out issue.

What may work better is turning off the tap to wake function.

What I hate more than anything is the left swipe action to activate the camera on the lock screen. That gets activated in my pocket so many times it’s ridiculous. Also gets activated many times when swiping left to clear individual notifications as well.

iPhone is funny sometimes.....

It can detect either owner's fall or in an accident, yet it COULDN'T detect itself being inside an owner's pocket while it "accidentally" turns on camera, draining the battery.
