Remove music match titles from iCloud library

Hello all,

It appears that there's no way to remove music from my iCloud music library easily. I was a former subscriber to the music match service and it populated my library with all of that music. My iPhone seems to be the only device that can see this music and the only way to remove the tracks is one at a time manually. Sadly there are tens of thousands of tracks.

Does anyone know a way to more easily do this from OS X?

What I did was copy 'music' folder in iTunes's media file to other location, then delete the whole library using iTunes. You should see two pop-ups with first asking if you'd like to remove song only from the library or files as well. I chose deleted files since I already have the copied files in other location. The second pop-up should ask if you'd like to delete songs from your iCloud music library. Hit OK and wait a bit. After that try to force update iCloud music library (it's hid under file menu). Check your device connected to iCloud music library to see if the songs are gone. If success, put music back to titunes and that should be it.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I think you've overlooked the part that explained the key problem. The iPhone is the only device that sees this past library. No other devices see it as it's not actually a subscription any longer. Disabling the iCloud music library on the iPhone makes it disappear as well but as soon as that it enabled again the data get synchronized and the thousands of songs show back up form the music match. Again, no other device shows this behavior.

So, the question is, how is it possible to edit this iCloud data from a device other than the iPhone? as the iPhone interface requires it be done one album at a time.

That's strange. I would think that once your iTunes Match subscription expired, the uploaded files should be disappeared from your device unless you got them downloaded on the device. When you look at the song title, do they still have the cloud icon?

Perhaps you may also try to delete all music in your device by going to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage> Manage Storage > Looking for 'Music' > Hit 'edit' on the top right > delete All Songs.
