Hi Forum

I am so happy with my 4 days old iphone... Real love.

But 2 things bugs me alot.
1. The preview of sms-messages on the front when they come. I have my phone sometimes in semi public souroundings, and then everyone can se and read these first lines in a text messages... It can be uncool, since people have more or less different writting styles when comunicating with you.

So does there exist any apps or something else, which can remove this feature ?

2. I always use phone as my alarm clock, and iphone is brilliant... but the "snooze time" is too long... 9 minuttes i think. is it in any way possible to make this time between snoozes variable and cutomized?

thanks.

1. Yes you can, for a price. I know of no app, but there may be one. The price to pay for doing it is that a lock code has to be used.

Settings/General/Passcode Lock/

There you have the option to show, or not, the SMS preview. However even if you set it to not show then remove the code, it comes back. So you must have the passcode set for it to work. I REALLY see no reason for this.

i thought about putting the pass code on for 4 hours too....but then i thought about it....when people are looking at your iPhone they will most likely unlock it and go to at least the home screen. therefore, if you receive a private text it will pop up in their face anyways....... so in other words the pass code trick doesent really do much to hide your messages from others once they have your phone in their hands....just thought i would add my thoughts

When I get one it just shows the number of messages waiting for me on the sms icon. The messages do not show on the home screen.
