HI All Rumors

Im planed to expand ram to 64GB 4X16GB Samsung ECC DDR3 1866 Registered.....

First I purchased two 16gb sticks (Because of good price) and in meantime while Im waiting good price for another 2x16 gb sticks

Pulled out my 4X8gb Micron ram and Supprise... Geekbench 5 score fall down from 7300 average to 5800 !!

After I inserted 3 stick with 16GB score went up to 6300 ? Better but still bed performance specialy in Protools ?

That's normal. GB only need high memory bandwidth, not capacity.

There are four memory channels, and you only use two or three, which reduce the bandwidth by 25-50%. Therefore, GB gives you are lower score.

Anyway, GB may be good for checking if the hardware is working as expected, but don't use it to determine your workflow's' performance. There is usually no direct relation between them.
