When I upgraded my 2013 to a new 2018 MBP 15 in Feb, Best Buy gave me a free year of Trend Micro AV suite. Now, I am an IT Pro. I realize it is not really needed - yet - on an Apple product.
But, it was free so I installed it. I lived with it until yesterday. I uninstalled it.
Wow - what a difference. The experience is if I installed a 10 times faster CPU. I installed it straight out-of-the-box. I never knew how fast this new MBP is.
I am even more impressed with the MBP and even less impressed with Trend Micro AV.
BTW - I manage 3 networks over three rooftops across 2 miles. There are multiple servers and 221 workstations. After years of testing many AV solutions, I settle on Symantec Endpoint Protection for the Microsoft platform. The is no noticeable impact on speed, memory footprint, or user experience. So, if you need something, I recommend that product.
