Removing 3'rd party extensions

Is it generally safe to delete unused 3'rd party extensions from /Library/Extensions and /System/Library/Extensions if they remain after you delete the Application? Are there any other locations to check, or an I just bringing my Windows paranoia into the Mac world?

I believe there's an app called "KEXT Wizard" that can be useful for what you want to do.

If you are sure they are left over from apps you no longer have, yes you can delete them.

Also check these folders.

~/Library/LaunchAgents (~ is your users folder)
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/Extensions/

Thanks, feels like a much cleaner world than Windows drivers and registry.
