Good morning/afternoon/evening/night,

I recently sent my iPhone 11 Pro off to repair in Denmark.

It appears that Apple doesn't allow repairs on devices with Find My iPhone activated.

I therefore switched it off before resetting the device and shipping it to the technicians.

Just after that I got an auto generated message from my carrier (Telia) suggesting that Find My iPhone is still switched on, advising me to remove the device from iCloud altogether. I could do that easily from iCloud.com, but what about my iCloud backups, that I will need when I get my iPhone back? Will they be deleted?

It won't delete the backup based on Apple's advice to backup and erase before sending it in for repairs:

I understand. I mean that if I remove the device from my iCloud account, you would assume that the relevant cloud storage data for that device would be deleted. How else should you be able to have control over those data?
