I lost an iPad about a year ago, so I went to the "Find iPhone" app
and activated the ERASE iPAD option. Well, I haven't gotten a notification that
the iPad was found/put online/erased, so I decided to remove it from my device list altogether.

But when I tapped REMOVE in it's pane, I saw this, so I held off removing it until I checked here first.

Does this notification mean that someone will be able to activate the iPad and see all of my stuff?

Or does it mean that someone will be able to activate the iPad but it will be factory restored fresh,
as if they had just bought a new one and taken it out of the box, so none of my stuff will be seen?

Thanks for your help!

I think that's a question better fit for Apple Support. Unless someone here would have had a similar thing happen. Either way we know that if someone has it they will at least be able to activate it as their own. At worse they will have access to all your stuff on there and info which would be dangerous. By removing it from find iPhone I know it will log the missing iPad out of your iCloud account so at least that much will be gone. Just give Apple Support a call or do a chat, I'm sure they will know the answer and the best course of action for you. That would be the safest bet. I do hope once you figure it out, you come back here and post to let us know what they say. I'm very curious myself.

It means that the iPad can be activated again with another Apple-ID unless your Apple-ID & password is literally written on the device. The new owner - whoever that is - won't have access to your data, not by any chance.
