Sunday night I charge my phone, rebooted it, and left it on the table. In the morning I had only 77% battery left. That's a lot of juice gone on standby. I was on wifi and have an Exchange push set, but push turned off. This is the same config as my 2G, but I added a bunch of new apps.

Monday night, I put it in airplane mode, charged, rebooted, and it had 99% in the morning.

Tuesday night I removed a bunch of new apps. Charged it, rebooted it, left it on the table. This morning it was at 95%.

This doesn't really make sense unless something is running in the background and launched when booted.

Anyone with battery issues try stripping down their apps?

It may not be the apps. Some people (myself included) have seen better battery life after a few cycles. My battery is definitely lasting longer now than it did when I first purchased it.

Just a thought.

It could be that. I thought I recall something similar with my 2G and apps. I was going to try and reinstall some apps to see if they affect my standby, but curious if anyone else went down this road already.

I guess an update on this. I completely redid my phone from scratch and not a back up. I add no apps. Charged it 100%, reboot, unplugged and left it on the table overnight on wi-fi with Exchange push. 9.3 hours standby and 13 minutes usage I was at 94%.

So, I could have a rogue app installed before, but it seems this is as good as it's going to get with my desired settings. It's worse than my 2G but doubt it warrants an exchange.

Right now I'm at 12 hours standby and 30 minutes usage and at 87%. My usage was just email and phone use, no surfing or other network activity.

Because the standby is a good baseline for problems. You can't quantify "usage" but overnight standby is repeatable.

Today I ran 24 hours standby, 2.75 hours activity and have 45% remaining. During the day I was on 3G and have had Exchange push on all day. No apps installed.

That seems reasonable. I would say if you're having battery issues to try and remove your apps for a day, particularly apps not 3.0 tested.
