Removing Beta Bricking Phone?

Had overheard a couple of tech guy in an Apple Store saying that if you remove the Beta from your phone it will brick it. So if you do the beta program you're stuck with it until the final release.

Is this the case?
Has anyone heard if its true or not, would really like to try the public beta but don't want to brick my phone if it needs restored.

Load of crap, I upgraded from iOS 10.3.2 to 11 PB2 on my 7+, and then downgraded to 10.3.3 beta by installing over the top without losing anything.

Download the 10.3.3 beta then open itunes (I use Windows 10) and hold shift while checking for an update when the phone is plugged in. This will allow you to select the IPSW, from then on it should hopefully install over the top.

Doesn't matter if the phone is on the home screen or in recovery mode.

Best to make sure you have an itunes backup and iCloud backup just in case though

They were probably referring to the downgrade bug in the previous beta. I believe this was since addressed.

It is not fully addressed. You can only downgrade to 10.3.3 beta, not to 10.3.2 which is official version.

That method of downgrading doesn't always work. Sometimes it breaks applications. Last year with iOS 10 -> iOS 9 it broke Music, Messages and a few other apps that got a redesign. So always make a backup before you upgrade, because downgrading doesn't always go well.

you downgraded from one beta to a different beta. that's not proof that trying to downgrade to the current public release would be fine
