Hello,

During the beta period my uploaded data has skyrocketed despite all analytics switched off and iCloud off (except Safari and Notes). The iPad is uploading between 30-50gb per month.
I’m not sure what the actual cause of the excessive uploading is but I’m wondering if bug reports in the feedback app are getting stuck in an upload loop.

Anyway I will be travelling soon and I want to minimise uploads (even on wifi). Do you think removing the beta profile will be enough to achieve this or will I also need to roll back to public release of iOS 11? Unfortunetly I don’t actually have time to do a install from backup.

I’m assuming removing the beta profile does not remove feedback app until you do an install/update?

Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

The feedback app used to be tied to the beta Profile. But for some time now it’s been tied to actual beta builds of iOS.

So I don’t think just removing the profile will achieve what you want. You’ll have to revert to a release build (11.0.3)

Can you see any app showing big upload data in Settings/Cellular/Cellular Data and unther Use Cellular Data for?

Also, you can connect iPad to iTunes and click on "Reset Warnings" and, on iPad, turn off Settings/Privacy/Analytics/Share iPhone Analytics and Share iCloud Analytics.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions.

It is wifi only iPad. It is not an issue when at home due to large monthly allowance but will be an issue when travelling. However it would be nice to know what is actually uploading this much data.

Analytics and iCloud analytics is already switched off which leaves me even more puzzled as to why so much data is uploaded!

Thanks

Than try to connect iPad to iTunes and click on "Reset Warnings", sync and hard reset :)

What exactly does that do (reset warnings)?

I’m familiar with hard reset and have done numerous over the beta period.

Thanks - I will give that a go. :)

It erases all things that have been collected and used for "bug" reporting during beta testing :)
