iPod removing information from an ipod help.

hey guys, i was wondering if i could take all the songs and videos off of my ipod and get then onto the computer? sounds easy right?

well, my laptop will NOT recognize my ipod. niether will 8.2 itunes either! my ipod will charge, but the coputer cant see it. what should i doo?

can i take the hard drive out of the ipod and then take the information off of it that way? any suggestions in what to do>:confused:
