Removing podcasts

I couldn't find anything related to this issue, so I apologize in advance if it's been discussed.

But I can't seem to remove podcasts from my iPhone. Before iOS 5, iTunes would wipe out the podcasts, other than the newest 3. But now when I sync my phone, iTunes grabs the podcasts from the phone, and puts them back into my library. I keep deleting them from iTunes, and it keeps adding them back. Any ideas as to how to stop this?

If anyone had a similar issue, I had to do another (3rd since installing iOS 5) restore. The issue seems to be gone now.
