I wanted to check the fans of my 15" late 2016 MBP, since I'm having problems with overheating and throttling, but I can't even get the back cover off.

I removed the six obvious screws and based on my experiences with earlier models I now should be able to lift the front part of the cover and then slide it forward to take it off. However, this does not work. It doesn't budge.

Am I missing something? Is there some kind of trick? Or this cover simply slathered with so much glue that it's not possible to remove without brute force?

Looks like it is removed in a manner similar to an early 2015 13" MBP where I removed the 10 screws and lifted up from the screen hinge-side of the bottom casing.
