It drives me crazy if I’m watching my Apple TV this “live activities” widget appears on my iPhone lockscreen. Any media type displays here, regardless of the device it’s playing on.

Is there a way to permanently remove this from my iPhone Lock Screen for media not being played on my iPhone? (See attached screenshot).

Settings / General / AirPlay & Continuity / Automatically AirPlay - set that to Never.

If it stays, open control center - the media page should have a large media control with a "control other devices" button at the bottom. Tap that and tap your iPhone; unless there iPhone is actually playing something, the widget should be removed from the Lock Screen / notification center.

For what it’s worth, I feel your pain. I’ve done dozens of searches looking for a solution. I’ve looked all through the Settings app. I’ve had times when I play a song in the Music app and the sound plays on the Apple TV in another room because that’s what my iPhone is set to control for some reason.

I’m a software engineer and one lesson I learned early is that if you’re going to do something for the user automatically they have to want it to happen every time or you have to give them an override.

Just because there is an Apple TV on in the house doesn’t mean I want to control it from my iPad or iPhone or play my music on it.

Frustrating 🫤
