I can't find the setting to customise what the Today view shows. I'd like to remove the weather summary as I've placed Carrot Weather directly below the Today view, and it has a better summary of current conditions and can also show short and long-term forecasts.

I've found writeups for iOS 7 and iOS 8, but the places in Settings they point to don't seem to exist in iOS 9. Dang.

Pull down the today screen from the lock or home screen and scroll down to edit.

Remove, add and change order there.

The closest thing I can do with that method is to remove the Today summary entirely -- there doesn't seem to be a way to edit what's in it. So I did that for now, until someone comes up with the actual method that works in iOS 9, and pulled the calendar widget to be above the weather widget. It's not optimal as it makes the calendar take up space even if it's empty for the day, but it doesn't make the weather info show twice at least.

Try turning off location services for the weather app

And interestingly, this worked (after a restart). Strange that something unintuitive like that would do the trick. I know that it'll stop the stock app from working except for cities that have been directly added, but I now have three alternate apps that do a better job. I still hope to find the option that I had in iOS 8, but I've arrived at the same result for the moment.

I know that this will also break the stock weather complication on my watch, at least as far as showing local-to-me weather, but that too I can work around -- Carrot's complication is better just like its on-phone information is better.

Yeah, sorry for my response.

Removing the stock weather from my today screen was the first thing I did.

I now use in the order show:

Launcher (1x row of 5 icons)
BeWeather
Events Widget

Which in a round about way gives me the right today screen setup.
