Alrighty then.......Can you rename WiFi networks saved on your phone?

I can't see a way to do it, if at all it's even possible because the WiFi network name comes out of the router. The reason is that I have dozens of saved WiFi networks from a lot of different places, and they don't always auto connect and some of the names of the WiFi networks are vaguely and randomly named. In some cases their names have nothing to do with where they are - for Example I was in my local pub (The Royal Oak), but their WiFi is called something like rear of bar! Pfft! That could be any bar I walk into, FFS.

Anyway, if anyone has some suggestions or maybe know of an app that could do this? It would make life a lot easier for me to recognise and sort out my 80 or so saved WiFi networks.

No, it's showing the network's SSID. Renaming that (if you could) would cause you to longer connect to that network.

You would need to either send a suggestion to Apple to allow us to set some sort of description field, or see if the establishment is willing to rename their network.

Does The Royal Oak have multiple different network names beings they have "rear of bar"? Wonder why they didn't just name all their APs/routers the same...then patrons would only need to connect once and their device would connect to the closest AP/router wherever they're at.
