I work with Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and Premiere. How does the multiprocessing (I believe that is the main difference between a Macpro and iMac) affect rendering times? I'm referring to the new Macpro and a new iMac that is supposedly being updated with the Haswell processor. I know that there is no way to compare unreleased machines, however, just based on architecture, how would they compare with render times? Should it be a big difference?

Well I can tell you in terms of still image processing, I.e. PS, Lr, you will see a difference with a Mac Pro with larger RAM capacity and more robust processors.

As for the Premiere... Well Mac Pro would win too and don't forget you can utilize the advantage of a hardware accelerated PCI-Express card such as CompressHD for super fast H.264 encoding.

It really depends on the task. Highly parallel tasks like most image processing schemes will benefit from the extra cores that the Mac Pro will have. The iMac, however, will be faster for single threaded processes.

More and more, a good GPU is becoming important for Adobe products. OpenCL support is getting better, so the Mac Pro's GPU powerhouse may become the most beneficial feature.

Premiere would love the Mac Pro.

Photoshop is the best of the apps you named for MP utilization. About 30% of it's supplied and 3rd party plug-ins scale fairly well on a MP system. The nMP will probably be faster than the 12-core 2012 MacPro - I guess by as much as 1.5 to 2 times.

Mostly the apps you mentioned appreciated clock speed over cores above about 4 cores. I think the ideal PS/Illustrator system would be a 6-core running at 4.5 to 4.7GHz and of course with lots of RAM - 24GB or more.
