I last received an email receipt for a purchase on April 29, 2020. Yesterday I made a purchase and didn’t receive the email today. I even tried resending the receipt a few times and still didn’t get anything.

When I went into my subscriptions I saw that “renewal receipts” was turned off, even though it used to be on. I tried to enable it again, but every time I back out and go back into subscriptions, “renewal receipts” is disabled again.

Is anyone else having an issue with being unable to enable “renewal receipts” and not getting email receipts?

So here’s something odd. If I use the Apple Support app to get to the manage subscriptions screen or use https://apple.co/2Th4vqI then “renewal receipts” do show as on. They don’t if I manually go to the subscriptions in the App Store or iOS settings.

So I did some more tests with the “renewal receipts” and this is what I found:

1. iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Pro 11 and iPad Air 2 all running iOS 13.4.1 are all seeing the same issue. All three of these devices are using a different Apple ID for iCloud as for iTunes. Issues persisted after signing out of iCloud. I didn’t sign out of iTunes or sign into iCloud with the iTunes Apple ID though.

2. iPhone 5s running iOS 12.4.5 did not have this issue, though it is signed into both iTunes and iCloud with the same Apple ID (iTunes one from other devices)

I’m not sure if there is a bug in iOS 13.4.1 or there’s some new issue with using two different Apple IDs that didn’t exist last month as this used to work a week or two ago. Considering 13.4.1 came out April 7, it seems unlikely to be an iOS bug and is probably a server side issue.
