Went to use my apple tv tonight for the first time in a few weeks. Launched my remote app on iPhone and was ready to go, except for one problem - I can't see movies or tv shows available for purchase/rent.

I've attached a picture of the problem, if anyone has seen this happen before your help in resolving is appreciated! I've already logged out then back in to my apple account, checked connection status, and made sure parental controls are off.

Any options besides a restore of the device? Thanks!

Thank you!

Unfortunately, the TV is not great enough to recognize the problem and fix it by itself. Anyone care to offer tips/suggestions? If not, I'll be restoring the device tonight in hopes that remedies the problem. Otherwise, I'll be lead to believe it is a setting on my Account that is blocking or turning off the feature; which would be strange seeing how i can purchase/rent in iTunes just fine.

Did you already reset the device with your remote?

Resetting your Apple TV (2nd generation) with an aluminum Apple Remote

Press and hold Menu and Down (buttons 3 and 4 below) on your aluminum Apple Remote for six seconds and then release when you see the LED light on the Apple TV flash rapidly.

I have not tried that yet, didn't know it was an option. I'll be sure to do that before doing a full restore to see if that does the trick.

Thanks!

You could also try just unplugging the unit, waiting about 20-30 seconds, then plug it back in. Has happened to me before and this usually fixes the issue. Hope it helps.

Indeed it has, i figured unplugging it would lose all the settings. Problem solved, thanks everyone!
