I just bought an Apple TV, but also own a Macbook Pro, iPhone and an iPad. Occasionally, I rent movies from the iTunes store, pre-Apple TV from the computer, but since the purchase of the Apple TV, I decided to rent a new release.
The strange thing is though, when I click on the rent button, it brings up a confirmation window that mentions that the movie is ONLY playable on the Apple TV and not all of my devices, as it would be had I rented it on my computer (and maybe iPad too?) instead. So, renting a movie on my computer first makes it compatible on my Apple TV and other iOS devices, but initiating the rental from the Apple TV makes it only compatible with it?
Does this make sense? It's not really THAT big of a deal, I would rather watch it on my TV but I'm just confused that it has such a restriction. Can someone explain why this is?
