I rented a movie on my iMac.
The movie sits in a folder called "Rented Movies".
When I go to Apple TV and click on my shared movies only the purchased movies show up NOT my "rented movie".
How do I point Apple TV to see the "Rented Movie" part of my iTunes Library?

Thanks for your help.

I'm pretty sure you need to use the "move" feature of iTunes to move the rental to the AppleTV to play it. I don't think you can stream a movie you rented on your computer to AppleTV.

In iTunes, isn't there a tab that allows you to move rented movies? I don't think it just automatically shows up on the AppleTV.

In iTunes under the device iTV all I have are 2 tabs.
One is summary and the other is photos.
I have no "movie" tab under the iTV device.

The Apple TV does see and play all movies I have purchased.

This is my first rental and I can play it on my iMac but not on the Plasma TV.

Am I doing something wrong?

If I remember correctly you need to click the "rented movie" source and you can move the movie from there.

I just tried to "drag" the rented movie into the "movie" folder in iTunes - No such luck.

It appears that Apple TV only can see the Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcast, Photos but NO access to the "Rental" portion of my iTunes library?

I know next someone will say:
Just rent from the Apple TV itself!

But there is a reason why I'm NOT doing that and I hope thats not the ONLY way to rent. Besides on Apple's Webpage it says you can rent from iTunes and continue watching it on Apple TV or even your iPhone!

I cant figure what I'm doing wrong : (

Check out this iLounge guide to iTunes movie rentals. You want the "Transferring Movies Between Devices" section:

Movies rented using iTunes on your computer can be transferred from your computer to an iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV. Unlike purchased content, this process moves the rented item from your iTunes library to the external device. You must also have an active Internet connection and be able to access the iTunes Store when moving items between iTunes and an external device.
