Hey guys so I rented my first HD movie from the itunes store last night and watched it on ATV. Looks so awesome!! one question though. When it started downloading i noticed it took about 10 or so minutes just to get to around 5 percent. however. at 2 percent it told me that it was now ready to watch.

this is where im confused. what if im watching and the video catches up to where it's still downloading? itll pause/rebuffer or something right? id hate for that to happen. should i wait for the whole movie to DL first before watching or when it says its ready, it means its really ready????

when it gets to the point where it says you can start watching - its telling you that it has downloaded enough that you shouldn't catch up to the download progess. if for some reason your internet connection gets disrupted, its very possible that you could catch up to the progress, but you can just pause the movie and give it a few minutes to proceed. i rented 'chuck & larry' last night and started it right when the ATV told me i could and i never had any pausing/rebuffering. so you should be fine... if you're worried though, give it an additional 5-10 minutes. its DEFINITELY NOT necessary to wait for the WHOLE MOVIE to download - thats just overkill.

Hey Bones,
I have the same question. I remember reading a post where someone said they played the movie "When it said ready to watch" and there were no problems with it pausing/rebuffering.

fyi - i have (comcast) cable internet, and when i was a little past halfway through the movie it had finished downloading. (so for me, the download rate was about double my viewing rate)
