I dropped and damaged my laptop and am now looking to have it repaired by an Apple approved service engineer. However, I am a little concerned about security with regards to my banking information etc. and wonder if creating a second user facility would allow my laptop to be accessed without my passwords and other information being vulnerable. I can still use the machine so creating a second user would not be a problem. Just concerned that I may have overlooked something, not having had to do this in the past. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, gentlemen, for your advice. All I need to do now is find a local technician. My pal, Graham, who is Apple certified, now lives in North Wales, plus we have just moved to Norfolk. Might just go in for another MacBook. The one I have is about eight years old anyway and I bought it refurbished. Decisions, decisions............
