I have an older iPhone 6 plus thats sitting around collecting dust. The lightening charger went on it and it stopped charging. I am looking to power her up one last time to get a few files and photos that didn't make it to icloud. Is there an easy kit to buy or should I try one of those break fix places I see everywhere?

If you're looking just to get a few things off it then getting the port repaired at a shop is cost prohibitive.

Are you sure the port is bad? Have you tried gently cleaning it out with a toothpick? Over the years, gunk can get in there and stopup connections.

Have you tried a different charging cord. If the port is dirty automotive MAF air sensor cleaner is great, just a few $$$ at auto zone. Gentle but thorough.

If the port is shot you could put a $20 battery in it. Whatever charge is on it ought to last long enough to do what you need.
