Has she let it rest for a few days to dry it out. If you're confident, use this guide to take it apart and let it dry out.

I dropped my mobile in a canal and it lay there for 1Hr prior to me fishing it out. Once I retrieved it, I took as many covers off as a i could and left in the boiler cupboard for three days.....Im now still using it.
PS, take the batery out if poss.
