Well I was sorting through my draws the other day and I found my first ever iPod, a 20GB 3rd generation. I tried to fire it up but I got a folder and question mark symbol and the HD could be hear to click. I guess the HD has died and would love to get a replacement one and get it up and running in my car rather than relying on my iPhone all the time.

My question is, what is the largest HD I can put in there? Can I just get a 60GB 1.8" (I think that the biggest) or does it have to be 20GB?

Thanks

They got 40GB hard drives here.

Not sure if a 60GB would fit, you may need to buy a thicker back plate to hold it, like you would if you were to put a 80GB drive in a 5G iPod, for example.
