Repeated crashes with suggestd

Since I upgraded my iMac and Macbook to El Capitan I am getting crashes with suggestd.

This is occurring repeatedly on both my Macs since I upgraded to the full release of El Cap, it did not happen with the GM.

Has anyone else observed this? What is suggestd? Any thoughts on how I might fix it?

Hi Steve,

I have this exact issue. I only got it on my MacMini and not my MacBook Pro though. I still haven't
found any solution though, just wanted to recognise the problem.

Unfortunately not, but it sure eats CPU like a pack of wolves !! The process is run from ~/Library/Suggestions.

Hey there it is from the notifications bar running on the side with all the info on your day and apps... Im searching for a way to manage it now . the joys of sharing.

Ah ! I basically ended up re-installing El Capitan and although the errors came back at first, then at some point for some unknown reason they stopped occurring. I have no idea what I did. Maybe removing/moving/fiddling with some of the items fixed it ? I really can't say.

Good luck and if you find anything out, i'd love to here any findings !

Good tip, thanks for that. I wonder if it's related to a specific notification, and if I can narrow down what one it is?

I am running Today, Find My Friends, Calculator, Weather, Deliveries (third party app), Calendar and Tomorrow.

I agree, self fixing software is extremely rare.

I run Today, World Clock, Calendar, Weather, Stocks, iStat Mini, Tomorrow so pretty much everything and then some.

Only thing I could think of (in respect to "self fixing") is that if some of the items for some reason had network issues that caused a crash and that I later switched network or similar (I do switch networks quite often here at work actually) which fixed it. But then again I should seen it if I got the system in the same state (i.e no network or ... whatever).

Another thing I was thinking of was the fact that it took an eon and a half to index the disk as I run with end2end encryption on the disk in combination with anti virus software. It makes the drive (spin drive) moan whenever I do file I/O. At some point it was done doing this, and perhaps that took care of whatever root cause there were.

I don't use encryption on my personal mac and I did not have any issues on that machine ...
