replace internal ssd

I have a Macbook Air from April 2014.

1. Any suggestions to replace internal ssd ? Preferably 1TB

2. Anything which can clone current programs to new SSD like some kit ?

the above are suggestions not endorsements. I've used other SSDs from OWC without issue but I have no experience with the above. I've used SuperDuper many dozens of times and really appreciate what it does. but as far as I know, it still does not create the hidden recovery partition. if you want that, put in the new SSD, install OS X, and use Migration Assistant (an OS X utility) to move your applications, users and data from the old SSD.

whatever you do, first back up your current SSD before removing it. and don't erase it until you are sure the new SSD is all good and set up and backed up itself.

Do your homework before you get a third-party SSD replacement for recent Macs.
PCI-e (not SATA), and correct pin arrangement to work in a MBAir.
OWC sells one. (same as post #2 )

My Mackbook Air (2014 11") has only 1 HD slot. How do I clone this HD before sticking it in ?

The OWC drive kit comes with an Envoy case, where you can place the old SSD after swapping the drives.
You can install OS X, then restore all your apps and files/pictures/music, etc, from the old drive, easily connected to your MBAir through USB port.

That drive is NOT compatible with the MacBook Air (or any Mac for that matter). Apple uses custom form-factor SSDs with a unique connector, which leaves OWC as your only option at the moment, or you can search eBay for replacement Apple SSDs.
