anyone try adding an external antenna to the mac mini?
i need to get a better signal on my new mini, but i don't really care for the third party usb wireless cards, so i'd rather try to replace the internal antenna with an external.

does anyone know what kind of connector the internal airport on the new mac mini uses? is it mc card? if it is i'll try to pick up an mc card to sma cable.

your input would be appreciated, thanks!

If you are talking about the new Mac Mini it has three wireless antennas. Depending on how they are setup, you might throw things out of whack by only modifying/changing one of the antennas.

that's right, i forgot there are two airport antennas now.
well, assuming it's possible i'd change both.
they sell mc card to sma cables and i would run them out of the case to external antennas. i just want to be sure of the connector type on the internal airport and if it's doable.
