Replace Mail.app with no "lock-in" app

Hi,
I don't know if this is a FAQ, but I didn't find an answer.
Some years passed hoping that Apple would improve Mail.app at least with inline images and page customization, so now I'm looking for a new email software, compatible with Mail.app email archive, that wouldn't lock me in a proprietary archive and, possibly, that works on Windows too. 🤢
I would consider paid solutions too, does it exist?

I'm just looking to change the default font color of RTF emails, no need of stationery (if I remember what they are) and I read Apple removed support to it on Mojave.
And, yes, Mail do support images, but if you try to copy/paste and image on a rtf email, it will be added as attachment.

Someone explain to me, please, why displaying an image in-line is a positive? Anyone sensible in 2020 turns off image display by default (you *want* web bugs?), and you end up with broken formatting emails because people think images are "cool".

If your image is the email, you need to re-think whether you need to send it or not.

I want to say that I'm not looking for something for everyday use, I surpassed IncrediMail time and I don't want to bother people with animated GIFs or impossible colors but, SOMETIMES, inline images would help a lot.
Let me try to write an example:
I like to "live on the edge" :cool: and often I use beta software. Sometimes I find a bug or a small graphical glitch and it would be a great thing to drop an email to developer, paste a little screenshot, maybe mark the glitch on the screenshot itself (thanks Apple for this) and write something below it. I think it is much better than writing "As you can see on screenshot number 1" or "Look at first attachment" etc. etc.

Want to talk about font color too?

I have bot IMAP accounts and local folders. Some local folders contain emails older than 20 years, so I would like to replace Mail with a desktop app that works and integrates with OSX Contacts and Calendar.
