OK, I replaced the optical drive in my wife's Macbook (2GHZ, Core Duo). The process went remarkably well, but when all was put together and powered back on, the drive made a sound as if it were accepting a disc. The drive is empty though and when I try to insert a disc, the drive bay is blocked.
Is my drive bad or is this something that happens sometimes when a new drive is installed?

Thanks!

Oh yes, OS X 10.1.10 detects the drive and identifies it just fine.
