I just got replacement AirPods Pro from Apple and put them in the case, They've been plugged in and near my iPhone for about two hours but won't update to 3A283, any tips for getting them to update?

Give it a day or so. I had the same experience, and after 36 hours they finally updated.

Did it ever update? I'm on the same boat as you. Been 24 hours since pairing and tried everything.

Same here, had them replaced around 24h ago. Been on charge etc the whole time and only the one that was replaced is working.

Firmware update and serial number display take time (several days sometimes) for replacement AirPods Pro.

Mine takes more than 24 hours... and they were on charge for most of this time. If I remember well, they updated their firmware during the night and I don’t even remember if they were on charge when it happens.

What you can try guys is to unpair and reconnect your APP from your iOS device.

Mine have been on charge since the replacement but still no luck 36h later. When yours updated over night were they paired or unpaired? Mine are currently unpaired.

Well in the end it still didn't update and I went back to the Apple Store, where even they could not figure out why. Ended up getting 2 new pods and problem solved.

I plugged the replacement AirPods Pro, I paired to my iphone on wifi, I left the case open and close to the iphone. Then I waited for about 15 minutes and I am now on 3A283

Leave the lid open, AirPods Pro shut down when they are placed in the case and closed so how will they update.

What worked well for me was swapping to the iPad, paired them there, played a couple minutes of music, that finally got them to the latest firmware. My iPhone just wouldn't do it.
