I searched the forums on this, and it seems that if you go to an Apple Store with broken iPod earbuds, they will replace them for free(if the iPod is still under warranty, of course.) Is this 100% true/accurate? Have any of the members here done it? What do I need to get the replacement?( EX: iPod serial #, receipt, etc.)

Well if they're smashed or something, I don't know if they would take them since it wasn't their fault, but I had crackly noises in one of my iPod earphones, so I went to the Apple Store. I told the guy I had crackly sound, so he took took them and gave me some replacement earbuds for free. :D

I just went to turn on my iPod yesterday and the speakers were toast. I didn't do anything to them, either.

You shouldn't have any problems getting them replaced then. Are you near an Apple Store or would you have to send in the earbuds?

Sounds like it will be a fun experience then! Honestly, I don't think that they will give you any problems. They'll probably just swap your old ones for some new buds and send you out the door.

The Apple Store is very tempting. Maybe you should leave your credit card at home:D

You can do it all online too. All you need is you serial number and date of purchase. You fill out an online form with the reason they are broken and they will express ship you a new pair free. When i got mine replaced i got a new pair in the mail the next day. http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/

I had this as well online but this time around it seems they're asking for the old pair which is not what happened to me before. It's not that I don't want to give up the old ones, but I just didn't want to bother with sending them is all.
