Hey all, I use the 'Notes App' on my iPod Touch regularly. When I was running OSX Lion I'd plug in my iPod Touch to my Mac Mini and I could access all of my notes by going into the 'Mail App' in Lion and all the notes I created on my iPod Touch were there for me to access.

I'm now running OSX Mavericks. Unfortunately, OSX Mavericks doesn't support 'local syncing' and it forces me to use iCloud and I don't have an iCloud account.

What's an alternative I can use? I've got Evernote running on my iPod Touch, but Evernote is too complex for something as simple as creating notes.

Thanks!

I like Notesy on my iPhone and use nvALT on my Mac.

These apps sync data pretty flawlessly via Dropbox which also will do versioning. I enjoy that these apps save the data as plain text ".txt" files which are very portable. I could in the future, sync the notes to Windows, Android, or even Linux.

There are many apps that support plain text and syncing, those are just the two I prefer. nvALT is free, however Notesy is paid, but worth it.

Liked the look of notsey but I need to add photos etc. is there an app like notsey that does that. Not keen on the look of evernote

I love ThisIsNote. Syncs with Dropbox, Evernote or via Wifi.

Alright, thanks.

Yah, I just want something that's basic so I can create notes on the iPod Touch and then read them on my Mac!

I believe you can use the Notes app on both iPhone and Mac w/out iCloud, by using other services like GMail and Outlook accounts and letting those sync.
