Hey all,

Recently my preferred chat client, imo.im, dropped support for all third-party networks. They had a comprehensive selection, including GTalk, Facebook, Steam, and AIM, and canned it all in a move to promote their own chat network. Unfortunately, as no one I know uses the imo for anything other than the aggregated chat network support, I have no contacts on their network and no reason to keep the app at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions? One with Skype and Steam along with Facebook would be fantastic.

Watching this thread with interest! I was shocked when imo did that; it seems distinctly like "shooting self in foot". I posted another thread a while back but unfortunately didn't get any responses so hopefully we'll see something here.

In the meantime I've been using Hangouts and Skype, but having two apps is a bit clunky and I imagine that it'd be even worse if you use more than two networks. I'd love to see an iOS version of Adium but somehow I don't think that that'll ever happen :(

Wow, sad to hear about imo doing that after all this time.

I can't quite recall all the supported networks, but some other popular possibilities are Trillian and IM+ (and there are a number of others too).

Depends on what you need. If it's sync between devices (including desktop) then Trillian is the only choice. If it's only between iDevices, IM+ reigns supreme.
