my hd in my intel imac is toast and needs to be replaced. i was considering going with 1TB capacity until i read a couple reviews for both Seagate and Western Digital. these reviews eluded to these larger capacity drives to be "buggy" and felt that drives that were 500gigs or less were more stable. one reviewer who had always used WD in the smaller capacities (500 gigs, and under) spoke of them being ultra-reliable but was on his 3rd 1TB hard drive from the same company. of course, these are a handful of reviews out of hundreds of glowing ones, but enough to spook me as many people review products too early to really tell for sure. so the question is- should i sacrifice storage space for reliability and get a 500Gb drive? your thoughts/experiences?
