Just had my Airpods replaced and they sent all 3 pieces separately... this is the packaging, itwasn’t all in one box, was three parcels, the big box was just the charging case!

Surely this kinda makes Apples argument about chargers (making packaging smaller to save space and transport more phones with a smaller carbon footprint etc a tad silly?

You’re comparing cardboard and plastic/metal waste really ?

And actually, Apple said part of the reason to not ship with charger was to make the boxes smaller so the footprint was smaller and they can ship more phones on less planes thus helping environment.

So yeah, Apple didn’t need to ship replacement Airpods in 4 boxes and 3 bags.

If you want to have it explained so you can easily understand it’s still not wrong. Instead of Apple using X amount of width x height and X amount of weight on a pallet having X amount of phone boxes you can have more boxes of phones in that same amount of space. You’re comparing space and environment. They are also saving the environment by less electronic waste with those chargers we don’t need. I have at least 10 from various things. Also AirPod replacements are modular. It’s a waste to give you the buds and case if only one part broke. As somebody who has gotten one pod replaced why waste both pods.

Also I get the modular reason i’m not stupid, the fact is they replaced every part of my Airpods and still sent in 4 large boxes.

I just found it amusing how much packaging was used.

Having more phones ship less planes = less carbon footprint from planes.

Hey, at least they replaced your pods for you, right? I'm assuming at no charge?

Also, you use the same boxes to ship them back to Apple, so you're getting twice the mileage out one shipping box.

Enjoy your new APPs!
