I have just received my new aluminum imac. It has a hitachi drive, (that is slower than my last imac drive which is a western digital) Why must apple change the hard drive to slower one?

I take it back, the Hitachi drives *are* noisier than the standard WD.
I could never hear the WD's but this Hitachi is loud, clicking and churning I'm returning it anyway for a different reason but I'm hoping for another WD and as a side note the optical drive is an Optiarc and it has a serious burning issue, doesn't matter what DVD burn speed you use it's always slow hovering around 2-3x and yes I've tried different media etc.
All of mine were new. Not sure about the OP's tho?
His and mine are the only 2 that use Hitachi out of about 15 24" iMac's I've seen so theres a good chance I'll get WD next time.
