iPod Replacement IPODs

Apple just gave us a new IPOD because they could not change the battery. Now I cannot get my PowerBook 4 to even recognize the new IPOD so I can reload with music. I have gone through resetting it and my MAC still will not recognize it so I cannot select it and load it. Any tips?
 
Sounds like the replacement they gave you is dead if you've tried resetting it and there's still no luck.

Give Apple a ring and see what they say.
