I've posted on it between a dedicated thread and the random shutdown thread. But what essentially happened was I started geting the random shutdowns so I called in on a monday, had a box tuesday, they recieved it wednesday, fixed it wednesday, and had it back to me thursday. Fast turnaround but unfortunately they scratched it a little bit and it had colored vertical lines on the screen, the trackpad button wasn't functional on the left side and it had black grease marks on the trackpad button. So I called in that same thursday and they promised to repair the unit by the next monday. I recieved a box friday and mailed it in. Monday came and no unit. I called tuesday and thursday and they just said they didn't have any information except that it was being repaired. Friday I was tired of waiting so I emailed and miraculusly it mailed out saturday and got to me this monday. But it was in really, really bad shape monday. The top was scratched unbelievably and it had some black grease marks again towards the top of the top case and the top case wasn't even pushed on all the way. I recieved a call from apple the same monday because of my previous email on friday and he asked how it was I told him and he said they would repair it again. I asked for a replacement unit but he refused. I complained and said how upset it made me and he still said no. Then yesterday(tuesday) he called and left a voice mail saying that they will replace the unit.
I got the info today on where to mail it to and such. Probably won't get a chance to mail it out til next week as I have to get the box out of storage and I work all day for the next couple of days.
So you'll probalby have to mail it in at least one more time but probably two more times. If they mess up the repair this next time. Its unfortunate and hopefully apple gets the memphis plant to get their act together or they revoke the contract and go with someone else.
