My 1st MBP was shipped 15th June. It was faulty and returned it for replacement.

I received the replacement 6th Aug. Apple CS said my warranty start from Aug 6th,.... is this true?

It took apple 2 fkin months to fix your computer? or did you return it recently?

The whole process was super troublesome..... i think total of more than 48 hrs..... 2 visits to Genius = 3hr + 5 hrs (not including 5hr drive both way per trip).

Calling apple care, going to the troubleshooting process,... more than 40 hrs in the 7 weeks period.

Finally, they agreed to send a replacement,... but i procrastinate (partly waiting for the new smaller power adapter, partly waiting for QA to be stabilized, less yellow tint issue and hopefully heat issue) sending the faulty MBP in.

Next time call applecare, tell them your issue over the phone, take a few pictures for your record, ask them to send you a mailer. They send you a free mailer to return your powerbook to them overnight. Two to 3 days later you will get your repaired machine in the mail. Possibly longer if it is an older model or they have to backorder parts (unusual).

The problem is I don't wait it repaired. I want it replaced. So I need to show Genius that there really is something wrong with the logicboard.

Once Genius acknowledge the issue, I called Apple care to request replacement. I need to really be persistant, otherwise, they insist of repairing. Replacement only takes 1 week. Repairing? Who knows?

See, now I get a new MBP with smaller power adapter, iLife 08.

Same thing happened to my wireless keyboard. They have problem with their shipment, and the whole keyboard replacing process took 1 month as well,... but in the end, I end up with the new wireless keyboard.

I guess I'm lucky (new machine with new accessories) to be unlucky (have initial faulty products).

But knock on wood,.... hopefully my new MBP is flawless.
