So around three weeks ago I decided too buy my very first imac because i had waited too long already for a new one, but i got it and I had the yellowish tinge issue, but I decided to wait to get it replaced to see if a new one comes out. And one did. So I called applecare and told them about it, they told me to call a Apple repair place. And then the call stopped. The thing is I don't want a repair I want a refund or a replacment
So how do do I do that because I'm new to Apple. Thanks for the help. P.s I'm in australia & bought it from a authorised reseller.

Call the store where you have bought it and tell them you want a refund. I mean, this should be kind of obvious from the start.

Hi I am in Australia also and have dealt with Apple regarding returning/replacing 3 machines all iMacs.
First I'll start by saying that Apple Asia [thats who Australians deal with] are a disgrace, they use tactics like stalling never returning phone calls and general rudeness in an effort to frustrate clients into "keeping" their faulty Macs. As you bought your machine from a reseller and not Apple online they will not want to help at all as you have found and will just pass it on to an Apple Authorised service provider. After 3 faulty iMacs I did not want another one as I just do not trust the build quality/longevity of these pieces of crap they are passing of as premium computers[premium price tag thats about it definitely not a premium product or premium after sales service at all]
I ended up selling my last iMac privately and lost a bit of cash, upgraded now to a 17" MacBook Pro which seems to be better for now.

If you want a refund you'll have to take the reseller to small claims court or at least threaten to do so. What I would have done if I had the time would've been to arrange a group of different media groups to be present while I sat on my iMacs box right out front my cities official Apple store [hope ur city has one] holding a sign that says my iMac is broken and Apple will not give me a replacement or a refund....RIPT OFF

I'm sure that on the evening news would get u immediate satisfaction. Its a shame that anyone would have to go such lengths but Apple customer service in Australia presently leaves alot to be desired.

As someone else in these forums has stated :
"it totally sucks that buying a new Apple product has become so stressful because of all of the quality problems. The Apple "out-of-the-box" experience has gone from breathtaking to holding your breath and hoping there are no problems."

Apple pull your finger out and sort out your quality control issues and stop treating your customers in Australia like crap.

To the OP good luck in whatever you choose to do.
