Hey everyone,
Well, my 1.83 MBP finally bit the dust. After power problem after power problem, I kindly asked the Apple Store to replace my unit (which, to my surprise, they did without argument).

However, since my unit was a 2.16 Core Duo with a hard drive upgrade, they couldn't exchange it in the store with a stock model. Instead, I had to turn mine in, they would ship mine back to Apple (most likely to get refurbished and sent back out to some poor soul, according to the store they sent it out last Friday) and placed an order online on Friday for a 2.4 GHz Santa Rosa MBP with a hard drive upgrade. Although this is a great deal and Apple told me it would only be 7-10 business days until I get a new one, I'm wondering if anyone else has went through this replacement process before and could let me know how long it took Apple to send a new unit out, whether they received any tracking information via email, if it was sent to the store or directly to their residence, problems/etc as the Geniuses at the store told me little about the whole replacement process. Thanks, let me know!

Web page nowadays says 7-10 days before _IT SHIPS_, my estimated time where 10-14 days in mail and it looks more like it will be around 14. And then one week for shipping or so, so if yours follow the same procedure it's probably 7-10 days before they ship it, not before it's there.

I guess the store could help you with tracking maybe.

Yeah that's the major problem, I call the store and they seem to know about as much as I do except they ordered it on Friday. I've asked for a Web Order Number but such a thing probably doesn't exist in Apple's internal ordering system. Yeah and I noticed the 7-10 business day ship time on the store, wondering if that applies to replacement ones, though. Time will tell, if anyone has gotten a replacement lately, let me know your experience!

I just got a mbp, and from the time its was ordered to ship than to my door step was three and a half weeks. Hope that helps. P.S. I live in Canada and it was shiped from China.
