So here's my story...

I was rushing to get out of my car one afternoon and my iPhone slipped out of my hand on to the concrete. Luckily I had it in the Belkin leather holster so the screen was not harmed at all. But, three of the four corners, which are not covered by the case, got scratched and dinged up very badly. So I called Apple and told them I would like to have the chrome bezel replaced on my iPhone. The rep stated that the only cosmetic repair they do costs $200!!!, and it replaces all of the exterior including the screen. I said that the only damaged part of the phone was the chrome bezel, but he said it didn't matter. Now, i've seen on different sites tht when people take apart there iPhones, the chrome bezel is a seperate part and seems to be rather easy to replace if neccessary. Does anyone know of any solutions to my problem? Or has anyone had a different reaction from Apple? I thought about just buying a skin to add protection and cover the damage, but im too big of a fan of the iPhone design to cover it up...

Yeah I saw that, my only problem is the dings on the chrome are rather deep, so I don't think it would help much. I feel like Apple should offer a "chrome replacement service" for ~$30-$40. I would definately pay that.

yeah i'm in the same boat. but my scratches arent' that bad. I think that you might have to wait a while until a 3rd party offers this part. maybe contact some of them and convince them it is a valuable part to keep in stock or sell seperately.
