I have in 2018 11” inch iPad Pro. I was wondering if the original battery from it given by Apple could it be changed ? obviously it is not under Apple Care plan, so can the battery for this be sourced from third-party vendors? Has anyone tried replacing the original battery given by Apple? from a third party vendor? If yes, how is the battery performance? Is it giving optimum performance and back up?

I just had the same iPad model's battery replaced (it was swelling and already pushing the screen out). I can't vouch for every other third party vendor out there, but mine did a decent job. I previously had him fix my iPad pro's display, so this is actually the second time he's taking out the screen, and I can see some minor bits of dried glue around the sides, but nothing I couldn't scrape off myself.

Battery life is fine (health was previously at 83%), and I can swear that my iPad now actually feels a bit speedier than before (almost as though performance was previously being throttled due to an aging battery, though I am probably just imagining stuff). 😛

Even after replacing the battery your new battery health is just 83% ? How come ?

If I am not mistaken you are in Singapore right ? Can you post the link of the product where you got it from ?

It’s a repair shop at bukit panjang plaza. There’s a repair shop on the top floor. Break fix now or something.

Also at what battery health do you suggest to replace the battery ?

I really can’t say. If not for the bloated battery, I might just have just waited it out and upgraded when the next iPad came out. Though none of the iPad models currently appeal to me.
